We have friends!

So contrary to popular belief, and against what you have observed, we do have friends. lol. So today has been a very fun day. We had some friends over. The Champions. Daniel and Janelle Champion. They got married very shortly after we did and recently made a very wise decision to move closer to us. We decided we couldnt eat a roast alone, and had them over to eat some roast, and play some games, and hang out. We played a little wiii and played some scene it enjoyed some very nice company. Big will also joined us for a while.

We also taught nursery today and it was amazing. I was thoroughly impressed with children 3 and under's knowledge of the prophet. I showed a picture of joseph smith and they all yelled prophet and when we taught them that the prophet teaches us things and we listen to them they loved it. It was an amazing experience.

Now i must tell you about one of the boys in our nursery. His name is Tanner. He is a blonde hair, blue eyed, tan soon to be stud. He is learning to talk and is between 1 and 2. But eveytime his mom leaves him he cries. Just for a few minutes, but he cries. Yet everytime he cries someone just has to pick him up and hes ok. The one thing that we learned makes him stop crying is when we take him to the picture of jesus on the wall and say Jesus. He then stops crying, reaches out his hand and touches jesus's face and repeats jesus. It always helps him and it always comforts him. It is very impressive to me the things which children learn and are taught by their parents. It is also a reat testament to me that any time we are in need or are looking for comfort we just have to let him into our hearts and he will. If we ask he is there. Tanner has been a great example just as all of this children are.

Now we have had a massive snow explosion recently so here are some pictures of it.

Merrrry Christmas..

Merry Christmas to all!
So we have had a fun holiday. After working a long day on Christmas eve, we came home to a dinner of a lemon rotisserie chicken, and stuffing. We then opened a few presents which revealed a Lovesac (memory foam beanbag) for Sara and a pair of EMU boots (similar to uggs). Shawn revealed a back massager and a cozy robe. After dinner we headed in for an early night. Christmas morning Brian and his companion came over and we made them a country breakfast and gave them both a fleece blanket and a stocking of goodies. We then opened the rest of the presents we had and Sara found two seasons of 24, princess bride, and a cozy pair of sweats. Shawn found a wrigley field sign, Nerf dart gun set and Very Sexy by Victoria secret cologne. We got a few other presents like a 12 piece dishes set from Mama and papa young. The Hayes clan and Dunlaps generously gave us a lil extra spending cash, and we had a delivery of country ham a few days ago from the smiths which made for a great christmas morning breakfast. Shawn also got a hot chocolate maker from Nate.
On the afternoon of christmas day we headed to ashley's cousins house and had a amazing dinner and a hilarious gift exchange. Nate ended up with a hat he could wear in San Fran, While ashley ended up with a dress from goodwill that makes you wanna shield your eyes. Shawn got elf boxers with butt glue, and sara got a survival kit for the holidays inclusive with a flask and earplugs, along with excuses to leave family functions. Here are some outfits of the awesome gifts people got.

Losing games

We have recovered from working in the mall for black friday and now are getting super excited for christmas! Things over the past week have been busy as always. We have been working, doing a little bit of christmas shopping, and enjoying fairly decent weather. Old Man Winter has come by for a visit today with a few inches of snow coming down.

We had a really fun thanksgiving day at Ashley's parents house playing wii and eating a ton of great food! The joys of thanksgiving! Later on in the weekend we went up to Ogden to have dinner at one of Shawns friends. We all had a great meal and wonderful dessert made by sara that went over well with everyone. We played Apples to Apples to finish the evening and unfortunatly we got our butts kicked, haha. Its ok though.

Not much excitement happened throughout the week aside from lots of working and shawn having fun in school. Luckily school ends this week coming so that will be a nice break. Our first Christmas Tree is up and might I say absolutly beautiful! We will throw some pictures up soon. We were able to go over to Nathan and Ashley's last night and have a fun game night with them. We played Sonic & Mario Olypics and also Mario Party on the Wii and it was a back and forth game and in the end Nate and Ashley came out on top. It was definatly fun though. We will have to win the next game night soon to get rid of our losing streak. Aside from that not too much else is going on. We are excited to go back east in about 3-4 weeks.

Oh Daniel..

So i have a story to tell. It was kinda from a lil while ago, about a week, but i have to share. So my auntie shellie and cousin daniel came in town for my cousins baby blessing. On this wonderful trip they got to meet beautiful baby claire. Along with this trip before they went home and while waiting for their flight home we took a small trip around temple square and around the conference center ( pictures to come soon). After this tour around this amazing buildings and landmarks we ate a quick lunch at KFC. Now this is where the great story started. After we got our food we sat down. Daniel ordered a lap top kids meal and was fascinated by the box and in an accidental swoop dropped his macaroni and cheese on the floor. Now this wouldnt be any type of extroardinary story if it wasnt for the fact that after the mac and cheese fell on the floor he proceeded to go down and scoop it up with his spork into his bowl. Nice of him to clean it up you say. But instead of just throwing it away, he ate it. So theres my story. Daniel ate mac and cheese off the KFC floor. Not just any KFC a slightly i guess u could say ghetto KFC in Salt Lake City Utah. It was something i will always remember. ( and hope to not throw up while thinking about.)

Undefeated Season!

Things here in wonderful Salt Lake have been going pretty well. Over the past few weeks we have been keeping very busy between work and school as usual. We have managed to avoid snow for the most part. We did get caught in what they call a minor lake effect snow a few weeks ago that dumped about 6 quick inches of snow on us. After much prayer it melted away. Shawn has been at fed ex for a few weeks and is in the full groove of everything and enjoying it.

We both got tickets to the famous "holy war" between BYU and Utah and took the last half of Saturday off (after a lot fun with Sara's car!). The game was amazing! Before the game started the two teams started to get it on a little early in the middle of the field. Utah goes a little crazy for this game. Everywhere was covered in either blue or red. We definatly enjoyed ourselves even though it was really cold! Utah won and finished the year 12-0, undefeated!!

Sunday we went down to Provo to see Joseph, Katie, and baby Claire. Nathan and Ashley were kind enough to drive and we all enjoyed it. Claire is adorable to say the least. We are excited for our first thanksgiving together this week. We will be spending it with nathan and ashley's family. Then time to get ready for Christmas!! Thats about it for now, here are some pictures of the game.

Randommmmm

So this will be a random post.. we have a hodge podge of pictures and events we will update about.
First of all here is a shout out to Halloween. someone in our complex played a great prank and put a foot hanging out of their car. So i dunno who did it but we loved it because of their great sence of humor.
Next if you look sideways you will see that i made shawn some lunch and his way of showing appreciation was falling asleep while i was cooking. gotta love him.

Shawn went to a utah game a while back, and took a few pics. The fans werent as good as WVU ones. but hey, what can you do

Heres the utah field

Now last monday we took a trip to provo to see joseph and katie brewer(and soon to be baby claire), sara's cousin and his wife. They are expecting an addition soon, as in tomorrow. So best wishes to them. But on our trip back to Salt Lake we randomly got lost looking for target and found the MT. Timpanogas temple so here are some shout outs to the beautiful temple.

On the way to provo we decided to take a picture of the Y on the mountain. We later found out Katie had climbed there pregnant and all. We were quite amazed, but true to the Utah fans we are.. Booo BYU. haha.. cant say we really care much.

GAS IS DROPPING!!!

We just want to share our happiness with you that gas is dropping. Thats basically the only reason for that title for this post, haha. As far as news for us, Shawn got a new job with FedEx and is very excited to get started with that very soon. We got to go to nursery today and Sara taught a great lesson to the kids about the Holy Ghost. We had a fun time as always in there. Sara had a great time visiting teaching tonight and getting to know some more people from around the ward. We will be throwing some pictures up in the next few days! Miss you all

Still going

So we have been slacking a bit on this blog stuff. It happens. The weather has started to definatly get colder and we are not liking it at all. Temps are diping down into the 30's almost everynight and brushing into the 20's some. But fortunatly no new snow. We have basically just been doing the same old schedule. Going to work for both and Shawn is back at school after a weeklong glorious break. The most excitment we have had is changing our license plates over to Utah plates.. we no longer stand out with those rocking WV plates, haha. Thats about it for now though. Let us know how everyone else is doing!!!

So its been about a month

So we havent posted on here in about a month, so while we've had a minute we thought we would. We have beeen prettttty busy with work and school and church and such. Sara is still working 2-10 at kinkos and shawn is still with tmobile working whenever he can. On recent events Seth visited on conference weekend and we got to attend conference and so did he. We also both spoke in church today for our welcome to the ward talk. Sara spoke on how to keep the spirit in your home and shawn spoke on a variety of things but mainly missionary work and loveing your neighbor. We based our talks on things which were talked on in our regional and stake conference. On the weather front.. it snowed today ALOT. We dont like it so much. We are making more friends i guess you could say. A few sundays back we went to another couples apartment and played games with them and we are going to a different one today. WE have a bunch of newly wed couples in our complex so its fun to play games and such with them. This is the snow we woke up to this morning
These were our seats in conference Sunday Morning.

Stake Conference..

soo its been a while i know. but we've been a little busy so a quick update is that we are working and shawn is going to school. haha. but our most recent event is that we had stake conference today and it was in the conference center. it was for our region and had 77 stakes there. we almost Completely fille the conference center. President Monson presided over the conference and spoke as the last speaker. it was amazing to be so close and hear the prophets words directly more closely at us. At the begining of his talk he told this joke about preident hinkley dozing off at a conference it was a riot. And we quote " how do you poke the prophet and tell him hes been sleeping? " it was priceless. He really is a great man. So here are some pictures we took afterwards.

our view the whole conference!
when we first got there we

Snowwww.. what?

So.. we woke up this morning to a pounding on the window. After a few delirious moments we realized it was hailing like crazy. The forecast for today called for snow in park city and when we left the apartment it was confirmed that the snow had graced the top of the mountains.

Seth headed out today. He stayed with us from friday night late till now. We've enjoyed the company and hope we didn't bore him too much.

Our next new update is that we have been looking for a new TV and decided to see if there was any labor day sales. We then went to best buy and found a wayyyy good deal on a wayyyy nice TV.

Our new house phone we finally hooked up also so our new numbrer is 1-801-513-4556.

Heres some pictures of the hail/ snow!

First Day of class, and decorating

So today was Shawn's first day of class after a long 3 and a half year break. He is definatly not used to a big University but did well on his first day. He had three classes between 830-1130. He is going to have a fun and busy semester ahead and is excited to get things underway. Sara had today off so when Shawn got home from class we got to spend some time together. We then headed to the bank and then to Wal-Mart for the grocery trip of the week. While there we decided to get some pictures printed so we didnt have to look at the faces of the people we dont know who came in the frames. So since we dont have any other pictures yet, we will put some pics up of our amazing frames now finished we decorated with. We promise to soon put pics up of the outside of our apartment and our surroundings ( we just forget everytime we leave!! :o) )

oh no

So the inevitable happened and we had to cheat on Shannon. Shawn was getting a little shaggy and saras hair decided not to curl in the amazing Utah weather. So we went down to some local place and closed our eyes and hoped for the best. We've been pretty busy, sara just finished classroom training at work and shawn is selling away with Tmobile but still keeping other options open. Heres some pics of our new hairdoos..

Update

So just a quick update.. Shawn started with T Mobile and is working at a mall right beside where Sara works. He had to have some interesting classroom training for a few days, but is now on the sales floor selling away! Sara started at Kinkos, and after this week of shadowing, she has 2 weeks on in classroom training, then she starts her 2-10 daily shift... Classes start the 25th and so we are getting close to Shawn being in classes again. Shawn got his home teaching assignments and we got who our home teachers are yesterday. So we are getting settled lil by lil. Tuesday shawn played soccer with the people from our court, they play saturday mornings early and tuesday nights a pick up game. He played and sara watched, so that was fun. Otherwise we are having fun!
